Grandma and Grandpa are in town for a short visit on their way to Michigan. Grace is thoroughly enjoying their presence, as usual. We try, as best we can, to keep her from waking them up at 5:45 in the morning, but it's hard. She often has a story she wants to tell, or she needs to show them which pair of undies she has decided to wear for the day.
In any case, since we won't all be together for Grace's third birthday (the Byrons will be in Maine), we decided to have an early party. Last night, Daddy grilled chicken and corn on the cob while Mommy made a birthday cake. Then we all sat down for a delicious dinner with our neighbors Yosi, Aaron, Sofia and Sofia's Abuelita. Grace was thrilled to be the center of attention, and she was ecstatic over the Dora the Explorer undies and backpack she received. In honor of her recent accomplishments on the potty, Craig and I gave her the book Everyone Poops, and Grandma and Grandpa got her a Hansel and Gretel doll (Grace's favorite story of late...she cackles when the witch says she will boil Hansel and eat him, go figure).
Grace has another party to look forward to when we arrive in Maine. I hope the inhabitants of Frye Island have ear plugs because when Grace opens a present there's a lot of noise! I have uploaded pictures from her dinner party (see side bar). Enjoy.
