Stating the obvious

Scene: The girls and I are out shopping for necessities at Target. In the babycare section, an older woman starts a conversation with us.

Woman: [speaking with a heavy southern accent] My goodness, what beautiful children you have.

Me: Thank you.

Woman: [to Grace] What's your name, darlin?

Grace: [standing up straight] My name is Grace Margaret Byron. I am three years old. I will be four years old.

Woman: [feigning surprise] Gracious me, I thought you were five years old. Is that your sister with you? What's her name?

Meanwhile Julia has become increasingly alarmed that a stranger is talking to her and is on the verge of a meltdown. Tears are beginning to fall from her eyes.

Grace: [to the woman] This is Julia. [to Julia] Don't worry, Julia, old people like babies.

I love the honesty of kids. I think its God's way of keeping all of us on our toes! :)

Fabulous! Out of the mouths of babes... Is there another lawyer coming up in the family?
