Coming on Christmas

The tree is lit. The floor is littered with discarded strands of lights (purchased only a year ago and not working), wadded newsprint which enwrapped handmade decorations, and fraser fir needles, lots of them. We had high hopes that the tree would be fully dressed, but the days evaporated into night far too quickly. There were dinners to be made. Baths to be taken, and tonight, at least for Grace, a stomach bug with which to contend.

As I write this, Grace is curled in the fetal position underneath a mountain of blankets, and Julia has her dad held captive, rocking her to sleep, as is her wont these days. Below are some pictures from our Tree Getting. Additional images of our OMG-How-Are-We-Going-To-Stand-This-Thing-Up here.

Believe me, the pictures don't give our Fir due justice. It's over ten feet tall.

We start off well

We did the same yesterday though our tree is not quite that size - we are not 'allowed' to get anything of that size because it takes over according to Andy. So ours is not nearly as thick and it is a little over 6 feet tall - quite the Charlie Brown tree next to yours :)

What a magnificent tree! Sorry to hear Grace is sick, I hope she feels better soon (for everyone's sake!:))

Looks like a terrific day! It is a lot of work to get the tree up and decorated, but it's so magical - Enjoy
