Mr. Mom Day 6

Ellen is home. The kids are happy. I am pleased.

Today was a good day. The girls and I had such an industrious time sweeping, vacuuming, sorting, washing, and folding laundry. The day just whizzed by. We got the house in decent shape before Ellen's return so that the only laundry that remains is her own from her suitcase. We managed to go get haircuts from Anabel (Grace and my haircutter) with Julia in tow. Julia sat on my lap and watched very suspiciously. Because I kept her hands full of raisins and peanut butter crackers she did not even cry. We also ran an errand on campus as well as made a strategic strike at the grocery to get some fresh fish for dinner. Ellen is currently putting the girls to bed giving me time to cleanup the kitchen and write this post. Next on the agenda is my show and tell of all the cool things Grace, Julia, and I got to do.

I really did have a nice time. It helped that class is not in session until next week. Without worrying about teaching obligations I felt that I really cherished this chance for intense personal time with the girls at such a young age. I will remember this last week fondly for the rest of my life. I hope at least Grace does too!

Craig, it was nice to read your "Dad perspectives" over the last few days. You keep it real, and I like that. Ellen, welcome back :).

Ladies, thanks for reading. It's rewarding to know that others are listening and maybe even laughing. It was fun taking over the blog for a few days.
