the natural conclusion

Grace doesn't have school today. None of the schools are open (save for Mercer). Yes, folks, the mere sight of snow is enough to paralyze an entire region of the country. I've heard some talk of black ice, but let me tell you, my streets are dry as a bone. There is a little residual snow, which seems crazy because it snows here once every 50 years, but calling a snow day still seems, what's the word, extreme, unwarranted, crazy. All three actually.

----

Craig says I'm biased. Who, me? Okay, so I am.

I'm from the U.P., where more than ten feet of snow will fall in a winter.

Craig says they probably cancelled school because they were concerned about ice and didn't want students waiting in the cold for the bus. True, true. I must note however (and I write this in the great tradition of "I used to walk to school in a blizzard, up hill both ways"):

I waited for the bus in below 0 temperatures. Not below freezing, below 0, with wet hair and no hat, because I was late.

----

Off now to get the girls outside. They are going to drive me nuts today.

Today in the Denver metro area, we are forecasted to hit a record high of 73. In Tampa, FL the high will be 58. It snowed in Macon. Something is definitely screwy here!

It's a neighbor's dog who really wanted to play in the snow (and the neighbor wanted the dog inside).

Ellen, do you remember our senior year when we were in that snow sculpting contest? Do you remember how stinkin' cold it was? Then to top it all off, we'd water the whole thing down. Craziness I tell you, craziness! What were our parents thinking moving us U.P. there?!?!?!?! :)

Too funny, Chris. Those memories make me smile and cringe slightly at the same time.

I know exactly what you mean! Sadly, for some reason, I don't have a lot of memories. Kind of weird, but there are some & yes, they usually have that same effect on me. :)
