After what seems like weeks of disrupted sleep, I actually slept well last night. That's what relief does for me. If you don't count the fact that my dad had his cell phone turned OFF for five hours yesterday--during the time we thought my mom was in surgery, when in fact she wasn't in surgery--the day went well. My dad finally called at 4 pm to let us know that my mom went into the operating room a little after 3. He called fifteen minutes later to let us know she was out and the news was good: clean margins and no sign of cancer in the sentinel node. Her oxygen was steady at 100%, another relief.
Now I can get back to reality. Yesterday was a day in suspended animation for me, when I asked and answered questions with no purpose or recollection. I'm sure Craig is happy to have his wife back.

That's great news...on occassion, those docs actually know what they're talking about! (Well, at least some of them, right?) :)

Wonderful news, Ellen! Get some sleep before you get to Boston!! - although you're more used to the schedule.
Love to you all-
Your mom's surgeon is a good friend of ours! He did his residency here in Madison and our kids were all the same ages. His wife was one of my best friends during the infancy/preschool children years. They are now in Muskegon and we don't see them often, but I would trust him with anyone's life.

I'm so far behind on blogging; I'm so glad everything came back with good news for your mom!
