Summer Adventures, Murdoch & Thayer Edition

Who cares if Summer doesn't officially start until June. Summer break arrived at 11:45 last Friday morning when we met Grace at the doors of her school. School's Out! We kicked it up a notch with the arrival of our cousins from Boston on Saturday. There was pool time, dancing on the back deck time, playing in the backyard time, and strawberry picking and ice cream eating time. Good times, for real (as evidenced by the photos below). My apologies to Miss Thayer: baby, we love you, we just didn't take many pictures of you.

Now we're prepping for Julia's third birthday, and my god, can you believe this little urchin is three? Love, love, love that kid. One week after J's celebration we depart for our five week Western Adventure. When polled about our summer plans, our friends either think we're insane or awesome. Yes, a five week road trip isn't for everyone, and we fully expect to drive each other crazy, but I'm really looking forward to some serious outdoor time with our kids. Craig and I have wanted to go West since well before Grace and Julia. It's only taken us ten years to get there!

I doubt that the blog will see much action while we're gone. We will try to update our Flickr site, so if you're interested, check on us there.

We had such a good time! The kids slept for almost the whole plane ride. Murdoch was still asleep after we landed. I think that is the sign of a really good trip. Thank you so much! I hope you guys have a great time on your trip - I am jealous that you get to do that. I know some of it will suck but things suck at home as well. We will miss you and the posts! I can't wait to see the pictures.
