That was a couple of weeks ago. Now she calls us "Mom" and "Dad" regularly, and I have to admit that it bums me out. Why? Well, it makes me feel like she's getting too big too fast, like she's less of a little girl if she doesn't call me "Mommy". Kind of silly, I suppose. Maybe it also bothers me because when I think of the word "Mom" I think of my own mother. My mother is a grandmother, and she's been a mom for over 40 years. I've only been one for three, and I still want to be a mommy for a few more.

Mom, Dad
A couple of weeks ago I noticed that Grace was referring to Craig and me as "Mom" and "Dad". I thought it was cute, especially when she was yelling something at Craig, like "Come on, Dad, we have to go out in the yard." I assumed that she picked up "mom and dad" from her babysitters or from school. She always reverted to Mommy and Daddy when she was tired, hungry or really wanted our attention.
