Prior to Julia's birth Grace whined to me that babies do nothing but lie around. I told her that the baby would "grow and grow and grow" and would eventually be able to play with her. While Julia is still a long way off from playing with Grace, I certainly got the growing part right. In four and a half months of life Julia has doubled her birth weight and added five inches to her height (she is 27 inches tall and weighs 15 lbs 14.9 oz). And though I know I should not make any comparisons between my two girls, I can't help but marvel that Grace weighed a mere 19 lbs when she was a full year old. Julia is wearing outfits that I put Grace in at nine months of age. Craig and I are doing our best to refrain from using nicknames such a porkchop or chubby bunny--we know these terms of affection will likely be misinterpreted as Julia ages. In the end she's just a very healthy and happy breastfed baby. Go Super Boobs!
