Well, actually one three year old and one almost three year old (with a birthday tomorrow...happy b-day, buddy). Yesterday we had the great fortune to have Grace's best friend Evan come to visit for the whole day. Evan's mommy and daddy had to take little brother Alex to see a specialist in ATL (and thankfully, little boy is A-Okay, whew, what a relief). In any case, I have written about Grace and Evan's antics in the past. They formed a special little bond when they were just barely two years old, and Ani (Evan's Mom) and I have had the great pleasure to watch their little relationship flourish.
During "nap time" they requested that I lay their sleeping bags side by side (this was one of many signs that nap time would not actually result in any sleep). I decided to lie down in the same room to keep tabs and hopefully settle them down. The whispering commenced immediately, and at one point I intervened:
Me: "Evan, you need to be quiet, honey, or I'm going to have to move Grace into my room for a nap."
Evan pops up out of his bag and looks at me quite seriously.
Evan: "But Mrs. Byron, I love her so much."
This conversation sums up Evan and Grace quite well. They do in fact love eachother so much, and while Ani and I cringe at the idea of being in Macon forever, we wonder how their relationship will evolve as they age.
I took a ton of pictures over the course of the day; the best of which can be viewed here.
