Scene: We are seated at the kitchen island for dinner. Each of us has a plate of spaghetti and a salad. Julia reclines nearby in her highchair and gnaws on the leg of one of Grace's dolls.
Grace: "But I don't want to eat my dinner."
Craig: "Fine, Grace, don't eat your dinner."
There's a pause in the conversation as Grace assesses her options.
Grace: "Daddy?"
Craig: "Yes, Grace."
Grace: "Daddy?"
Craig: "Yes, Grace."
Grace: "Daddy, I don't want to eat my dinner. I want your dinner."
Craig: "Grace, we're eating the same food."
Grace: "But I don't want my dinner. Give me your dinner."
Craig: "Grace, I love you, but I'm not going to give you my dinner."
Grace: "No, you don't."
Craig: "Don't what?"
Grace: "You don't love me."
Ellen: "Did she just.."
Craig: "Yeah, she did.

Oh boy! You and Craig have done a wonderful job of giving Grace confidence - she is testing those boundaries like crazy!
Julia is getting to be very strong and continuing to be cuter and cuter. Waking up from her nap, I see the eyes of Mom and Grace.
