Let's get physical

But not in the Olivia Newton-John sort of way.

Whenever my conscience is burdened I turn to physical activity. It's the only way I have found to get the bad juju out of my body.

On Saturday morning I woke with a burning desire to rip apart our side yard. Nearly every time I walk in our yard I find broken glass and other remnants of our property's former life. When we bought the house we stipulated in our contract that the seller should grade the property and add clean fill. Surprise, surprise, this did not happen. That's just one of the many ways that the Historic Macon Foundation leaves a bad taste in my mouth (not that you shouldn't buy one of their homes, you should, right now, and be my neighbor).

Naturally, I digress. Suffice it to say that our property, with its spotty sod and eroding surfaces, needs help. I have long wanted to terrace our side yard, and we started that process on Saturday. Terrace one is done (see below). Terraces two through four to come.

I can't say that my mind is resting any easier, but my abs, buns, and arms sure are tired.

Woah, impressive! Those feelings of yard inadequacy are all too familiar for us. What you guys are doing is killer, even more so when there are little ones that need stuff. We're going through landscape hell right now, but it will be sooo worth it when WE will be the yard of envy. You guys are doing a great job, I can't wait to see what it looks like finished!
