insert [expletive]

Be creative. I prefer expletives with at least two syllables, but you're free to choose your own. Don't feel as though you're limited to one word alone. String three or more together and shout them out loud.

Grace has welts on her privates. They make walking and sitting pretty painful. Given the last five days, one might think she deserves a break. Nope. Her face is covered too. I debated about posting a picture, but decided I couldn't do that to my baby, but decided the grandparents need to see how awful this looks.

In happy news, Grace's 4K teacher stopped by to visit her this afternoon. How great is that? Grace was her pitiful little self, but she managed to sit up and give Ms. F a hug. She perked up and chatted a little bit but then fatigue set in again.

Please, please, please let tomorrow be a better day (or else the cursing will start in earnest).

Poor Grace. Too bad she can't score some some sedative and just sleep the whole experience off :(. You guys need a day of fun (read: all day nap) when this is all said and done. Hang in there!

Kidding aside, all expletives should be directed towards the idiot at the clinic who missed penicillin allergy at the clinic. &$@%!

OMG - give her a big hug and kiss from us - and then go get yourself a glass of wine! I am sure this has been really hard on you as well. Hoping for a better day today.

Thanks so much to everyone for the comments.

People tend to downplay hives like it's no major thing (myself included) and now I know better. Her reaction isn't limited to hives alone. Her hands, feet and face are swollen. Her lips swelled so much she looked like Angelina Jolie and her right eye swelled nearly shut. She has joint pain which makes walking painful too. Not fun.

In any case, I'm hopeful that she will be clear for school next week, but I'm not going to make any plans.

I am so very sorry for Grace...
this too will pass..the sooner the better..
Is there anything that can speed up the process of getting this penicillin out of her system??I hope so..maybe lots and lots of water to drink..like washing it out???
I remember that John once had a reaction where he had trouble walking
and that is no fun...
I pray all will be better soon and
sooner..We love you all.
God bless you. Aunt Kathy

Ugh, poor Grace! (and poor you guys, too!) It's so hard being little, and it must be so frustrating for all of you while you just WAIT for the allergic reaction to correct itself. Her's hoping it works out soon!
