Another day, another holler

The kids were off school for another day. The school district held a press conference (yes, you read that right, for a girl from a teeny tiny town and a teeny tiny school this seems, I don't know, over the top). The district just wanted to let us know that predicted freezing conditions in the morning made travel far too dangerous. On that, they're right. Small southern cities (large ones too) simply don't have the equipment to deal with any sort of freezing precipitation on the road. Unfortunately (at least in my neighborhood and Grace's school) the roads were wet, not frozen this morning. A prediction that actually could have helped me would be to tell me my kids would be little jerks all day. No prediction was necessary to tell me I would be a jerk too. Ah well. Back to school tomorrow. Back to being a reasonable mother/human being for me.

I think it's safe to say that one of my New Year's Resolutions still needs a little work.

I concur. Today was a disaster around here, and I shed a few more tears than the kids. Tomorrow is another day. whew.

On a happier note, I love your new blog layout/organization!

I also love your new format. Don't stop, please! When we're travelling, I don't get to check on you all much. It's great to be able to catch up when I can. Seeing how the kids are growing and your life is progressing is a treat for me. This is not a great winter for normal schedules, is it?!!
