I won't say that my dream is shattered, but I have been brought down a peg or two. Up until this afternoon Grace only had accidents at home. Well, no more! Not only did she have an accident, but her choice of location was right in the middle of a rug, right in the middle of a room in my friend Ani's house. As some of you know, Ani also has a two-near three year old who is in the midst of potty time. Ani, though, has not resorted to the waistdown nude policy because she has a lot of carpet in her house. Enter Grace and within minutes there is a huge wet spot on the carpet (and this comes on the heels of a trip to the potty at the grocery store only twenty minutes prior). What can I say, at least she didn't poop? That seems like little consolation for my friend who was trying to avoid pee on the carpet in the first place.
So it goes with parenting. As soon as I get too big for my britches (so to speak), I am always abruptly brought back to reality. Kids have a way of doing that to you. Thankfully, Ani is a very good sport. I told her son Evan that any time he wants to pee on the floor, he's welcome to come over. It's the least I can do.

All is well chez Jordan. The rug is as good as new! Now I have the confidence to allow a half-nude little guy around my house! Resolve works wonders.
